Monty Booch Wins a Great Taste Award
We’re Delighted to Announce a Great Taste Award Win for Our Mixed Berry Blend – Sir Christopher Berry
We’re proud to share that our Mixed Berry Kombucha, Sir Christopher Berry, has been awarded 2 Stars at the 2025 Great Taste Awards, organised by the Guild of Fine Food.
This recognition means a great deal to us. Only around 10% of products entered receive 2 Stars, reserved for food and drink judged to be "Outstanding". It’s an honour to be recognised alongside so many exceptional producers.
A Bold Step Early On
Back in January, just weeks after launching, we were fortunate to receive a bursary from the Guild of Fine Food, giving us the opportunity to submit one product to the Great Taste Awards. We chose Sir Christopher Berry—our boldest, fruitiest blend—to represent what we stand for as a brand.
Taking inspiration from James’ dad’s phrase, “Shy bairns get nowt”, we believed that even as a small startup, there was value in showing up and sharing what we had created.
Why Sir Christopher Berry?
Sir Christopher Berry is our take on the classic berry blend—elevated and refined. Naturally rich in colour and flavour, it’s crafted to be smooth, balanced, and entirely free from added sugars or artificial ingredients.
What the Judges Said
“The judges felt that the balance of fruit and fermentation sit perfectly together here. It is abrupt, but in a pleasant refreshing way as opposed to being too vinegary”
"A very visually attractive product with a beautiful colour and inviting aroma. The judges were very impressed by the beautiful balance between the sour tang of kombucha, freshness of fruit and delicate notes of tea."
Looking Ahead
As an independent brand, this award is a huge milestone for us. It reinforces our commitment to quality, creativity, and thoughtful blending—and it inspires us to continue growing with intention.
We’re so grateful to the Guild of Fine Food for their support, and to every customer, stockist, and friend who’s supported us along the way.
