Buy Unpasteurised Kombucha

Most kombucha you'll find on a supermarket shelf has been pasteurised. That means it's been heat-treated to extend shelf life and standardise flavour, a process that kills off the live cultures that make kombucha worth drinking in the first place.

We don't do that.

Every bottle of Monty Booch is raw and unpasteurised, brewed in small batches and bottled with its live cultures intact. That's the bacteria and yeast that developed naturally during fermentation, the probiotics, organic acids, and enzymes that support digestion and give kombucha its genuine health credentials. You'll often notice a slight cloudiness in the bottle. That's the live culture settling.

Unpasteurised kombucha also tastes different. Without heat treatment, the full complexity of the fermentation comes through — the natural effervescence, the depth of flavour, the slight tartness that balances the fruit. It's a more honest drink.

Our Sir Christopher Berry took 2 Stars at the Great Taste Awards 2025. The judges specifically praised the depth of fermentation and the fact that it hadn't been over-filtered, which is exactly what raw, unpasteurised brewing produces.

If you're looking to buy unpasteurised kombucha in the UK, this is it.
